The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has honored Shubman Gill and Deepti Sharma with the esteemed Polly Umrigar Award for their outstanding performances during the 2022-23 season. Gill received the award as India’s best men’s international cricketer, while Deepti Sharma was recognized as the best women’s international cricketer.
The BCCI announced the NAMAN awards covering multiple years, and Deepti Sharma also secured the best women’s international cricketer award for the 2019-20 season. Smriti Mandhana had previously won this accolade for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.
Jasprit Bumrah was awarded the best international cricketer for the 2021-22 season, becoming the first pacer to win the award more than once. Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami were recognized for the 2020-21 and 2019-20 seasons, respectively.
Ravi Shastri and Farokh Engineer received the prestigious Col. C.K. Nayudu lifetime achievement awards for their invaluable contributions to Indian cricket.
The best international debut awards went to Mayank Agarwal (2019-20), Axar Patel (2020-21), Shreyas Iyer (2021-22), and Yashasvi Jaiswal (2022-23) among men, while Priya Puniya (2019-20), Shafali Verma (2020-21), Sabbhineni Meghana (2021-22), and Amanjot Kaur (2022-23) earned the honors among women.
Ravichandran Ashwin and Yashasvi Jaiswal also clinched the Dilip Sardesai award for being the highest wicket-taker and run-scorer against West Indies in Tests during the 2022-23 season.
In the Dilip Sardesai award for the highest wicket-taker in the Ranji Trophy, Jalaj Saxena (2022-23), Shams Mulani (2021-22), and Jaydev Unadkat (2019-20) were the recipients. The award for the highest run-getter in the Ranji Trophy went to Mayank Agarwal for the 2022-23 season.
The Lala Amarnath Award for the best all-rounder in domestic limited-overs competitions went to Riyan Parag (2022-23), Rishi Dhawan (2021-22 and 2020-21), and Baba Aparajith (2019-20).
Saransh Jain (2022-23), Shams Mulani (2021-22), and MB Murasingh (2019-20) received the Lala Amarnath Award for the best all-rounder in the Ranji Trophy.
Several other awards, including the Jagmohan Dalmiya Trophy, MA Chidambaram Trophy, and Madhav Rao Scindia Award, were presented in recognition of outstanding performances in junior and senior domestic cricket.
